FAQ

How many people are a part of Yeti Chocolates?

Up until fall 2021 it was just me, Willow Merritt. Now I am a company of two, having just hired my first part time employee.  I know the formatting of the website makes it sounds like a larger scale operation.  I did it that way because I feel it sounds weird to have everything on a website be in the first person.  So the truth is that it's now a two women show making this magic happen.

How did you come up with the name yeti chocolates?

When I was in college I took a ceramics class and one of our final projects was to create a shoe and something else. So I made a snowboarding boot with a Yeti popping out the top. When I was trying to come up with the name for my business in 2006, my boyfriend at the time said I should name it something mythical, like “Kraken Chocolates”. Instead I drew inspiration from that ceramics sculpture and Yeti Chocolates was born. And yes, I still have the sculpture.

Do you have a retail shop?

At this time, no we do not.  We currently have a few locations in Wenatchee Valley, and a couple out of state (depending on the season) that carry our chocolates, and we try to be at Pybus Public Market once a week to sell direct to customers.  If you would like to know when and where you can get Yeti Chocolates in person look here.

What is your shipping policy?

We try to use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for the majority of our shipping and use Priority Mail to ensure chocolates arrive in a quick but reasonably priced manner. During the summer months (June-September) 1-day shipping will be required to ensure save delivery from heat damage.  We pack the chocolates in thermal envelopes with ice packs to reduce the possibility of heat damage, but if expedited shipping is not chosen at checkout we will not be liable for the condition your chocolates arrive in during these months.

INTERNATIONAL

We will need to be contacted directly for international shipping options.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

We try to ship orders within 1-3 business days.  During the busier holiday seasons that could increase to at least 5 business days, so please order accordingly. And if you order later in the week we will typically wait until Monday to ship to ensure your package does not sit at a processing facility over the weekend.

Do you make sugar-free chocolates?

No.  I'm not a bean to bar manufacture, I get the chocolate once it has already been made into chocolate, so I have no control over how much and what kind of sugar gets added to the chocolate before I get my hands on it.  Dairy-free is the only specialty "diet specific" line I intend to carry.

Are your chocolates Gluten Free?

Yes, the majority of the chocolates are gluten free.  Currently the only exceptions to that are the S'mores and Strawberry Cheesecake chocolates in the Summer Collection, and the S'mores kits, as they both have graham crackers.  Otherwise, to the best of my knowledge reading the labels of the products I use, the rest are gluten free.

Why aren't all your chocolates available year round?

Seasonality seems to often get forgotten about when it comes to food due to the readily available produce from around the world. We would like to take you back to a simpler time when items were more available on a seasonal scale.  Keeps your interest piqued and our menu fresh.

How do I order wholesale?

If you would like to set up a wholesale account with us please fill out the contact form here, and we will be in touch with options that meet your needs.

Your chocolates look too pretty to eat, are they?

No.  They taste as good as they look.  And it's no fun making ugly chocolate.  They say you eat with your eyes first, so I'm trying to aid in the process.
